New year resolutions are never easy to keep. We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to make sudden big changes, and we're setting ourselves up for failure! A big change is better achieved through baby steps, commitment, and dedication. It takes time to build good habits.
The theory of a new year resolution is valid. The desire to have a fresh start is seductive. Out with the old, in with the new! Make these few changes and you'll be a whole different person this year! Be healthier, let go of stress, attract only the good things. It sounds so easy.
The truth is that we should always be working on improving ourselves (and you probably already are!). Ideas of how we want to improve and where we want to be in life are a slow build. Nurture those ideas. Take time to sit with them - really sit and put away distractions. If the idea really rings true to your desires, you'll start to see a path to achieving it. It's not always about jumping feet first, it's about thinking what small steps will get you started. What can you do now? What resources do you have available to you today?
First, in order to help you find your fresh start, it is important to acknowledge where you are at today. You want to move forward, but the first step starts from your current circumstances. Take stock of where you are at today and accept your situation. Accept it now in this moment and then start changing it the next. Acceptance isn't about laying down and giving up. Acceptance is about understanding what are your current resources so that you can make a plan to move forward.
Next, release the old stress and the bad vibes. Release and let go - this is so refreshing. Shake it out, let it fall away and find peace. Find peace in your heart. Clarify your vision and make peace with the process. This will take time but you are ready. Continue to nurture your vision and centre your focus.
Lastly, now you can rebuild. Find the strength within to make changes - plan baby steps so that you start today and keep going. Find the strength to step outside your comfort zone. Have courage in your vision. And when something doesn't go as planned or you feel as if you are hitting dead ends, regroup. Start again from step 1.
The process:
1.Take stock of where you are right now
2.Accept the circumstances of your current situation
3.Release old stress and negative vibes
4.Find peace with your vision and your plan and a slow process
5.Rebuild - start making those baby steps and slowly build your vision up around you
